Project Director, Technology Planning and Innovation

Location: Point Edward, Ontario
Classification: Permanent – Level 9 ($103,874 – $130,061). *The employer would be open to consultant proposals.

The Project Director will work in close collaboration with senior management and the IT team to support projects and innovation initiatives in accordance with agreed corporate objectives. Establish and then effectively manage planning, budgets and resources across multiple simultaneous projects. Establish policies and procedures that satisfy corporate compliance requirements. Where necessary research, select and implement new systems solutions to accomplish approved business objectives. Where necessary, manage vendor relationships to ensure provided systems and services met contractual obligations, are fit for purpose and are within the approved budget.

⦁ University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business or related discipline;
⦁ Formal Project Management training usually represented through Project Management Professional (PMP) certification;
⦁ A minimum of 10 years of progressive and successful project management experience in the field;
⦁ Demonstrated knowledge of all facets related to the development and implementation of major information systems projects including project management, systems development methodology and quality assurance principles and practices;
⦁ Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management;
⦁ Experience in the preparation and monitoring of project budgets and in conducting cost/benefit assessments;
⦁ Experience with the development of service levels, performance measures, and business process improvement initiatives;
⦁ Must have proven ability to understand and analyze issues and recommend appropriate solutions;
⦁ Must be able to provide recommendations for improved operations and maintenance practices, as well as supporting technology to minimize asset life cycle costs;
⦁ Excellent analytical, organizational, relationship management and interpersonal skills;
⦁ Excellent business judgement, decision making and problem solving skills;
⦁ Effective presentation, verbal and written communication skills;
⦁ Language – Excellent English language skills essential.
