Canadian Plaza Redevelopment Project Update – December 15, 2014

Over the last month, general work progress included the continuation of underground civil services with the majority of the sanitary and sewer being installed as well as underground electrical services including fibre, lighting power, camera and gate power.

The retention wall on the north side of the bridge ramp is nearly complete with the exception of the concrete cap and wall coating.

The majority of the site has received one lift of asphalt before the asphalt plants closed due to inclement weather. Asphalt will resume in the spring when the plant reopens.

Interlocking base has been prepared at the Maintenance Building and interlocking paving is now on hold until spring. Temporary concrete pathways to the building will be poured to achieve code compliance and occupancy in the meantime.

While the Duty Free Building is now occupied, at the Maintenance Building, essentially all service rough ins are complete. Finishing is underway with painting, plumbing fixtures, plugs, switches, etc. The building is awaiting the final power connection.
