Expense Disclosure for FBCL Staff and Personnel

The Federal Bridge Corporation Limited (FBCL) is a federal Canadian Crown Corporation operating at arm’s length from the federal government. FBCL is entrusted with the oversight of select Crown assets linking the United States and Canada. These international bridge crossings provide vital trade routes and links from Ontario to Michigan and New York states. The assets that FBCL is entrusted with are located in Sault Ste. Marie, Point Edward, Lansdowne, and Cornwall, all within the province of Ontario. Its international bridges are some of the most important fixed-link crossings in Canada.

As part of our commitment to good governance, we have established a policy governing the reimbursement of reasonable expenses required for the purposes of business travel, hospitality, conferences and events in line with Government of Canada direction. This policy includes processes for preparation and approval of expenses for reimbursement.

We voluntarily report, through our website, annual aggregate corporate expenses related to travel and business development activities as well as the travel and hospitality expenses for our President and CEO and senior executives. Effective the 2016-17 fiscal year, expenses are reported by fiscal quarter and are reflected in the period during which they are reimbursed.

The following disclosure includes business expenses related to business travel, hospitality, conferences, and event expenses for the following activities: direct delivery of FBCL core mandate or legal requirements, engagement of key stakeholders, internal governance, and training. Information that would normally be withheld under the Access to Information Act or the Privacy Act does not appear in this section.
