OTTAWA, November 7, 2018, /CNW/ – The Federal Bridge Corporation Limited (FBCL) proudly announced today that its new ConneXion program has exceeded expectations to quickly achieve a major milestone. Within less than three weeks of its introduction, over 1000 frequent travellers at Blue Water Bridge have registered for the program.

“The phenomenal response to our program is nothing short of fabulous and additional users keep signing up every day. We always knew that our customers would be excited about the convenience offered by ConneXion and the response has been better than we had imagined. Our staff is elated and eagerly shipping out ConneXion vehicle tags as soon as their orders come in. So far, most people in the community have been receiving theirs within about a week,” said FBCL President and CEO, Micheline Dubé.

Launched on October 22, 2018, ConneXion is an automated, prepaid frequent crossing program implemented on the US-bound span of the Blue Water Bridge in Point Edward. With a ConneXion tag mounted to their vehicle windshield, users benefit from quick, hands-free, cashless toll payments. The program allows bridge travellers to open a prepaid toll payment account online and to make payments using their credit card. Supported by online account self-management tools, ConneXion is aimed at non-commercial travellers who make regular crossings at the Blue Water Bridge from Canada to the USA.

FBCL encourages all interested bridge users to register and find detailed program information, answers to frequently asked questions and the User Support Contact by visiting its website at www.federalbridge.ca/ConneXion.

FBCL owns, manages and operates international bridges and associated structures in Sault Ste. Marie, Point Edward, Lansdowne (Thousand Islands) and Cornwall, Ontario. FBCL’s mandate is to provide the highest level of stewardship so that its international bridges and associated structures are safe and efficient for users.
