Point Edward, June 30 2015 – The Federal Bridge Corporation Limited (FBCL) wishes to inform the public of a brief delay in reopening the Canadian section of the Blue Water Bridge span presently being resurfaced.
The Blue Water Bridge Resurfacing Project is coordinated by the bridge owners, The Federal Bridge Corporation Limited (FBCL) and the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT). The scope of the work (which began in late March) is almost complete.
The project has encountered some unplanned technical challenges in the paving works. These issues have been effectively resolved but have required additional time.
The Canadian contractor, COPE Construction, is working diligently to complete the work so that the bridge can be reopened on July 8, 2015.
