OTTAWA, March 26, 2020 – In light of present concerns and activities associated with reducing the speed of dissemination of the COVID-19 contagion, The Federal Bridge Corporation Limited (FBCL) announced today that it will be temporarily be suspending the use of cash for toll payments for all vehicles travelling to the US at the Blue Water Bridge.

With an aim to protecting the health of travellers and staff, effective 12:01 AM on Saturday March 28, 2020 and until further notice only payments made with credit and debit cards, commercial account cards and pre-paid ConneXion accounts will be accepted. FBCL apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause to travellers.

FBCL continues to strongly encourage travellers to take advantage of the ease, speed and cost savings provided by the ConneXion pre-paid toll program. In addition to discounted crossings, ConneXion gives travellers access to the convenience of automated tolling in all lanes. To register for ConneXion, visit www.federalbridge.ca/conneXion.

This change takes effect just after midnight, on Saturday morning, March 28th.
