• The Government of Canada, as the Shareholder, expects that the Board will manage their affairs of the Corporation responsibly and in compliance with legislative and policy requirements and will establish in place corporate governance practices that are sound, transparent and accountable.
  • The Board is committed to adhering to the highest possible standards in its corporate governance practices.  It has seized the opportunity offered by the amalgamations in 2015 to modernize Board governance structures and processes, with emphasis not only on compliance, but more importantly, on strategic oversight, where real value can be created.   As a most significant and foundational step, the Board identified governance as one of the five corporate strategic pillars on which the strategic planning of the Corporation would rest.  It maintains a compendium of its corporate governance policies, which is reviewed and updated annually.
